Marty Irons, RPh, CDE, was among the first pharmacists in America to be board certified as a diabetes educator (CDE). His previous practice sites have been in community pharmacy as well as industry and military settings.

Marty has been honored by his peers with such awards as the Orange County Pharmacist of the Year, New York State Young Pharmacist of the Year, and Orange County Diabetes Educator of the Year. He has three times been honored with Special Recognition awards by the Pharmacist Society of the State of New York. Additionally, he has spoken at both state and national level meetings regarding the practice of diabetes eduction in community pharmacy settings.

He serves as the pharmacy editor for BETTER HOMOES AND GARDEN DIABETES LIVING magazine as well as being an active officer in both local and state pharmacy societies.

He currently lives in Vermont.
